I am looking for a discontinued infant car seat, does anyone know if ebay is a good solution?

eBay may be a good solution; however, it is important to do full research on the car seat first. First, consider why the car seat has been discontinued. Is it simply a fabric design you are looking for, or a particular style of car seat? Before even continuing your search for this car seat, it is important to make sure it still meets current safety standards and that there is no current car seat that would fulfill your needs. If all safety standards are met, then eBay is likely to have what you’re looking for. If you are going to purchase the seat on eBay, make sure to inquire about the seat’s history before purchasing it. Has it ever been in a car during an accident? How many children was it used for in the past? If the seat has been involved in a crash or simply run through the mill of a few children, you may not want to purchase it because of the wear on the safety equipment. Another thing to consider before looking for this seat on eBay is how long ago it was discontinued. Like eggs or milk, car seats have expiration date, something many people don’t know. Six years after manufacturing they should no longer be used. eBay allows expired car seats to be sold, so before buying, make sure that this car seat is newer than the six years date and will remain within that time frame for the length of use that you will require it for. When it comes to a product like car seats, the correct solution is always safety first. While this discontinued car seat may be the one you want, be careful to make sure that it is also the safest option for your child. eBay sells almost anything you can imagine, so if your safety answers all check out than go ahead – it will almost certainly be out there.
